Ciutadel is online!

Hello! I recently did the deployment of Ciutadel and it is already online. You can visit the website here:

It is still a beta and I need to improve several details and add some functionalities that I am working on. But it is already fully functional, and I hope you like it.

The confinement before, and the restrictions after, have only served to consolidate a model that had already been developed. Social networks and new entertainment formats have gradually led to the development of a society increasingly focused on “life at a distance”.

This is great because now we have a window to the whole world, but we cannot forget where we are and that is why one of my intentions with Ciutadel is to strengthen the reality that surrounds us, to create communities that allow us to build smart cities thanks to social interactions between people and not only to the Internet of Things, or huge amounts of interconnected devices. Making both the distance and the proximity a powerful combo for our communities, companies and cities in general.

While the concept of individual identity can be seen in any social network, the concept of a circle may differ.

The fact that a circle is made up of individual identities or other circles allows us, for example, to create a union of merchants, a gastronomic route organized by streets, a shopping centre, an agrarian cooperative, a guild, a federation of entities, a school with its different classes, even a neighbourhood or an entire city; In short, it allows us to express ourselves not with one, but with several identities depending on the field of expression or in which we want to have a representation and also in a simple way.

In Ciutadel, we don’t study what advertising we need to show you, simply if the user searches for something, he can find it, but we do not force him to see any advertisement and not studying his profile allows us to affirm that, unlike from other social networks, we do not sell the information of our users.

In Ciutadel we allow publishing messages anonymously, in each conversation we create an anonymity that we can use whenever we want and that will always be the same for that conversation (so we can have a conversation with several anonymous users without losing coherence).

This does not mean that we defend disrespectful behaviours, we have a code of conduct that must be respected. The anonymity allows us to keep our real identity private and the purpose is to be able to express ourselves freely even when we do not want that expression to be related to our true identity without the need to create a pseudonym.

With the growth of e-commerce among other things due to the pandemic and partly because of the situation itself, many businesses, especially those that can be considered small and medium enterprises are in a delicate situation.

We have immersed ourselves in a rapid dynamic of digital transformation, and many of these businesses find themselves in a scenario where having visibility on the internet is a fundamental key to success, but this is not always easy.

Ciutadel intends to offer tools for communication, information organization and trading both locally and remotely, for any person or entity that wants to trade or offer services or simply wants to experience their city like never before.

With this intention, and having tried to do a similar project in the past that never came online, in 2020 I decided to start the development of Ciutadel and a year later, with Ciutadel online, nothing would make me happier than to see it becoming a useful and enjoyable tool.

I am currently maintaining the site, fixing some bugs, and working on future updates. I will be publishing news also on social networks.
